Prepare to be Amazed!

Amidst the hurriedness of the practical preparations for this coming Easter weekend, have you taken the time to prepare your heart to be amazed by Jesus Christ?

“A voice cries:

‘In the wilderness prepare the way of the Lord;

make straight in the desert a highway for our God.

Every valley shall be lifted up;

and every mountain and hill be made low;

the uneven ground shall become level,

and the rough places a plain.

And the glory of the Lord shall be revealed,

and all flesh shall see it together,

for the mouth of the Lord has spoken.'”

Isaiah 40:3-5 (English Standard Version)

Why Prepare?  Why be Amazed?

Because Jesus Christ humbled himself on the cross!

“And being found in human form, he humbled himself by becoming obedient to the point of death, even death on a cross.” Philippians 2:8 (ESV)

Because Jesus Christ didn’t stay in the tomb!

“You seek Jesus of Nazareth, who was crucified.  He has risen; he is not here.  See the place where they laid Him.” Mark 16:6 (ESV)

[Just for fun, try cross referencing this passage in the other Gospels.]

Because Jesus Christ has won the victory over sin and death!

“Now if we have died with Christ, we believe that we will also live with Him.  We know that Christ, being raised from the dead, will never die again; death no longer has dominion over Him.  For the death He died He died to sin, once for all, but the life He lives He lives to God.  So you also must consider yourselves dead to sin and alive to God in Christ Jesus.” Romans 6:8-11 (ESV)

Because Jesus Christ is coming again!

“Then will appear in heaven the sign of the Son of Man, and then all the tribes of the earth will mourn, and they will see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of heaven with power and great glory.  And he will send out his angels with a loud trumpet call, and they will gather his elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other.” Matthew 24:30-31 (ESV)

“The King is coming; the King is coming,

I just heard the trumpet sounding

and now His face I see.

The King is coming; the King is coming,

Praise God, He’s coming for me!”

(The King is Coming – Bill & Gloria Gaither)

Are you prepared to meet the Risen Christ this Easter?

Are you prepared to be amazed?!?

He is ALIVE!  He is RISEN!

I’ve enjoyed checking out your blog- I also love the Inner Harbor… the shopping, the view, the water, the food, that fantastic Barnes and Noble, etc! I hope you have a wonderful Easter Weekend!
