It may not be all that important to remember that my roommate made cupcakes on Friday night. Or even that they resembled “fluffy golden clouds of orange goodness” straight out of the oven.
But the moment in between…when we sat beside the pool on Saturday morning brainstorming how to change the less-than-perfect elements to make them even better…that I would like to remember.
It may not be all that important to remember that I served with the 2-yr-olds on Sunday morning. Or even that it took 3 leaders to get all 6 of them to the gym (where they would sing and hear the story of Moses crossing the Red Sea) because two of them were having an off morning.
But the moment in between…when one of the little girls realized she could dance and do the hand motions to one of the songs and her face lit up with excitement…that I would like to remember.
It may not be all that important to remember the precious time of rather informal fellowship and prayer with a roomful of young women on Monday night. Or even that the theme of so many of the prayer requests mentioned was trust.
But the moment in between…a couple of us standing outside of our cars until far too late engaged in comfortable and encouraging conversation…that I would like to remember.
What moment in between would you like to remember?
